What should I wear to church?

I am going to a catholic m today at our local church. My family normally doesn't go to church, we used to regularly but then we started skiing every weekend in the winter so now we go infrequently. My grandparents are here and they are very religious, so we are going to church with them. What should I wear? Can I wear jeans/shorts or should I wear a skirt?
